I was able to be printed on the lookout for a very compact camera whose images in good light conditions even at full quality in A4 size. On the RAW format and a variety of manual settings I can dispense with this class of camera, since (compactness and ease of use, my wife needs a camera to deal with them) can take priority.

As an ambitious amateur photographer, I photograph with a Canon 5D Mark II with lenses. I see here is not between a high quality DSLR camera and a pocket camera, because these are priced and technically easy too far apart. And that is the pure number of megapixels is no Qualit?tsindiez for good picture quality, has meanwhile also been spread.

I opted for these reasons, the Canon IXUS 95 IS:

- Very compact
- Simple intuitive operation
- New Digic 4 Processor
- 10 Mpixels Sensor size mean for this 35 MP / cm ? pixel density. For me this was just about acceptable. 8 Mpixel I really would have preferred.
- 35 – 105mm effective focal length
- IS Optical Image Stabilizer
- Good display
- Price below EUR 200, —

After extensive testing with the camera have been more than met my expectations. The camera does what I expected of her.

Processing / Outside:
The IXUS 95 is very well made and really very compact. The controls are small and z.T. with multiple functions assigned to different menu levels, but still accessible and easy to use.

Menu:
The setup and menu navigation is quite easy and intuitive. Without a glance at the manual (PDF) on CD was for me to understand all functions. The display is sharp and bright and the color reproduction is close to the original.

Speed:
The start time by pressing the “on” button is very short and also the shutter completely unacceptable. The autofocus is fast and precise, even if I feel something is missing from manual control. Face recognition works perfectly.
In the continuous shooting mode, the camera creates a little more than one picture per second.

Image quality:
For a compact camera, I am very satisfied with the results. The color reproduction is very natural and not overly colorful. The only bright reds are a little too pop, but I know from Canon cameras and Canon is probably the signature;)
The automatic white balance works quite well. However, it must be adjusted manually in artificial situations, an advantage the white balance.

The sharpness of the images is a little weak at 100% magnification, but it’s been a conscious decision by Canon to be left to the user as much sharpness the picture still looks natural so that it can tolerate. I’ve seen pictures of compact cameras that were so extreme ?bersch?rft that one because it could not save much. In post-processing of the IXUS 95 photos I have, despite jpg image format yet sufficient flexibility to edit photos in good quality A4 print.

The lens is a bit blurry at 35mm in the outer third of the image circle, vignetting, and a little bit. Stopping down might help here, but you can not specifically control manually. But there is an exposure to in difficult lighting situations such as to achieve in the snow or on the beach proper results.

I have little knowledge of cameras and I get some advice, therefore, fits the camera to me. I was then chosen for the new Samsung PL65 in pink.

Here is my decision for other females who want to develop love taking technical:

- Design:
The camera is small and handy and looks noble. In addition, the Pink is not as “candy-coated colors,” but very stylish. The workmanship is high quality.

- Equipment:

The camera has a large display, which automatically adjusts the lighting conditions. Is great especially when on vacation photographed in sunlight. I have not tried with the current weather outside, but in the sweepstake in the sun: o) At least it fits but when one is directly under the living room lamp to notice the effect. One can still see everything on the screen!

The camera has a 5-fold zoom. There were also some with 10-times zoom from Samsung, but were too thick or large. And 5-fold zoom already offers some distance. I had previously “normal” 3-fold and the difference you notice in any case.

What I find great, are the many programs that has the camera:
- Blink and L?chelautomatik, so you shoot any more people with their eyes closed.
- Face recognition, so that the camera focuses on faces and not anything around it is sharp.
- Automatic scene recognition, so the camera can automatically detect what is there for a motive and then the settings accordingly automatically.
… and much more, which I have not tried this yet: o)

- Operation:
The camera has a wheel on one of the various programs / features can be quickly adjusted. Super easy and convenient!
The rest of the menu is simple and clear.

Oh yes – and ne Trash gibts also function as on the PC! If you delete photos from accidentally end up in the trash and can be there again rausgeholt. Fand I somehow cool. If yes every time already happened …

There are many more things to the camera. Have tried as I say not all.

In effect, the camera is more expensive than the “beginners cameras,” but it combines all the options in one. When a camera for 50, – buys less, which has a large display but not 5-fold zoom. Or has special features, but for only 8 megapixels. Or maybe nothing special … This camera can and has everything there is “new” on the market and on top of it still looks great. I’m happy!

For the first time I get to a Fuji compacts to Canon. Although I was aware that reaches the Canon sensor smaller and therefore a not quite as big resolution, but the following points have convinced me of the Ixus 120is:

+ Housing is unbeatable small, sweet, smart and generous, as it were, a hand and Augenschmeichler
+ Wide angle of 28mm
+ If balanced image quality at wide angle, telephoto, at 12 megapixels or different lighting conditions
+ Very quick and unerring focus and exposure
+ Virtually no color noise
+ Very good color reproduction
+ Adjustable sharpness, color, saturation and contrast
+ Surprisingly low vignetting
+ Very fast switching and triggering
+ Gimmicks like automatic rotation, until deleting, categories, self-timer when the face in the viewfinder, with smiles, Blink, exposure assessment, etc.

HD video and panoramic photos I have Nocht not made, but they are possible and thus also an advantage.

o sharpness falls off quickly but flat to the edge, still nice and sharp corners in total
o Operation is getting used to (different menus)
o i-Contrast and image stabilizer useful only in very specific shooting situations, since one must not expect too much
- Buttons are very fiddly
- Unfortunately, no opt. Not sure how the Ixus 100is
- Using the features of the battery lasts much longer than 100 recordings
- No manual exposure (shutter speed of 1 to 15 seconds in night mode selectable)
- No internal memory
- Battery compartment cover is a questionable plastic-breakage-construction
- Made in China

Because of the many helpful features and size for this camera very well balanced and coordinated quality from design to quality, I find these ultra compact highly recommended! For me, at this point a schnappschu?taugliche-Always-In-Ultra compact camera with 28mm wide angle and good picture quality more important than a 10-fold zoom or pixel Protz. The latter gets you prefer a DSLR.

In the search for a suitable successor for my old Ixus400 that after 5 years but is now suffering from serious symptoms of loss, I’ve increased my fruit of lengthy discussion and comparison, the Ixus 200 IS.
The crucial criteria for me was the compact dimensions, the great wide-angle (especially for Architectural Photography), a reasonable picture quality and good workmanship. And even if this is superficial, I put a certain amount of emphasis on good design. All that I have found my this camera.

You turn on the camera, she is quickly ready, and offers a straightforward and intuitive. The automatic mode selects the appropriate image from reliable program. The manual mode is, as usual on cameras this size, very clearly maintained. “He offers various programs preinstalled image of more features, such as ISO sensitivity and image brightness. The Ixus 200 is pretty quick in my view, much faster especially when my old one.

The picture quality is okay but not outstanding – it’s probably the fact that 12 megapixels are oversized for such a small camera something. It is amazing that Canon has stuffs such a small digicam so filled with pixels, but on the other hand reduces many subsequent models, the Powershot range, the resolution of 12 to 10 megapixels – for a better picture quality.
At ISO 80 provides the camera really good results – the photos are extremely rich and razor sharp detail, even at high magnification of individual image sections. For example, there is no single portraits of wrinkles and pores do not remain hidden;)
From about ISO 200, you can see, however, that activates a noise filter noise and tries to smooth ironing. While this succeeds fairly well, however, are increasingly blurring the individual details – such as if you run a blur over the image. Nevertheless, the Ixus performance, even in dark rooms satisfactory results. The color reproduction is clear and of course, the image stabilizer is doing his rest.

The touch screen is in the Ixusfamilie an absolute novelty. He is not the steering, as it was actually imagined that he tends to work to support conventional key operation.
In the image viewing mode, you can skim through the images hint via the memory card, zoom, delete, mark favorites and trigger the slide show. Other functions can be selected only on the button control.
In photo mode can be controlled via the touch screen, the flash, select the different scene modes and choose the exposure adjustment. Everything else must be done on the classic button control. Holding the camera vertically (in a horizontal position, there is the possibility can not peculiar) way to trigger the camera with the touch screen, but this has a rather long shutter lag results.
The basic settings of the camera can be exclusively set by key operation and classic dial.
Very much touch-auto focus with the “Man typing on any image on the screen and focus on exactly this subject, the autofocus – even works for moving objects!
For me, the question arises why the camera can operate only partially on the screen to have the feeling that the touch screen has been incorporated only half-heartedly.

Conclusion: is the Ixus 200 is a companion with an ultra wide range of applications, good image quality (for this size), huge 24mm wide angle and nice technical gimmicks such as the touchscreen. From me there is this 4 stars. The fifth star is the Pixelwahn and the somewhat inconclusive operating concept of the touchscreen to the victims.

that’s true, but certainly a lot of customers do not interfere.

what the camera well does / can: trigger quickly. battery extremely well. bedienung after a short training period very comfortable. jump-start to their own taste of videos useful. display size comfortable. processing well, not a creak or the like. Image quality on the PC and look for not too great for expression in my eyes totally ok for the average user. here pleasant little bildrauschen, beautiful colors. Wide angle.

If you do not have entitlements to the highest setting and fine details digital camera megapixels, if you will often taking from the auto mode, the camera uses light conditions especially at reasonably good, the road is long lasting battery and one of the important pictures at home eg at the screen “clicks through” to show or to see how the holidays were so fits the camera perfectly.

if you value sets for any obvious fine detail resolution for large, often in poor lighting pictures makes settings makes himself happy, angry at high resolution over slightly muddy pictures with a few more details and would rather bildrauschen more, then you are certainly disappointed fast.

I think those who are strutting about in the net pages and pages about this camera and point out that others are more compact record details, hobby photographers and professionals who demand otherwise use a dslr camera and fix it on how close a compact bez?gl. the image quality of cameras dslr herankommt. Some are compact – only with skillful setting – a little closer than the intended point casio h10.

only this is that most “normal” non-customer-relevant Casio EX-H10 SR, so it would be wrong in my eyes for them, not to the really excellent battery, just because a small but vocal part of the online user writes that other compact “better can take pictures. “

I bought the camera a few months ago and find them still super!

design: the camera is really pretty, but somewhat thick, which is not really a problem, especially beautiful is the camera that sometimes a little gray in the purple shimmer are clearly labeled buttons and not too small

photos: the photos have a very good resolution, digital camera megapixels they can develop as a poster, but they consume much space, it fits on a 2GB speicherkarte approximately 850 images, which is relatively low. when you press the camera s aims for first timer, which is good because the pictures are so sharp at Snapshots, it is not so good. I’ve also found no snapshot function. If a photo shoot with flash, it takes a long time thereafter, until the camera is ready.

the videos have a very good quality, consume however much schpeicherplatz.
The camera menu is very confusing, which does not bother me because the functions are varied and good. particularly well, I think the Face is also available for the self –
with a digital camera you can also make sound recordings, microphone and lautschprecher are good.
by the provided software and USB cable you can transfer the photos easily and quickly to the pc

All in all, the camera is great, if not the most important are schnappsch?sse for eien

hint: all those “normal” camera bag is too boring, I Empfelung a camera bag from lowepro are beautiful, different from others, and even environmentally friendly (if its worth it) creates

Actually, I dig for a replacement for my Nikon. SLR missing – or at least approach manner.
In addition, the camera should have an HD video function () for the offspring.

Processing / Operation:
- Processing: Canontypisch good because nothing rattles, everything is there to find camera where it belongs
- Operation: Canontypisch well
- It must be tedious with the lens (we removed every time a bit cumbersome and the carrying strap) mount

Focal Length:
- This is really all focal lengths to cover up megazoom.

Photos:
- Very disappointed, ill-defined (with dozens of settings (focal length, ISO, etc) carefully examined, including manual, about 100 images). However, this will only be visible if you look at the images in Photoshop, for example, can be represented in the original pixel size (muddy edges, washed-resolution) artifacts.
- Colors: at least in the auto mode is covered
- Exposure: For images with very high Kontratunterschieden has either the optical or software problems. The pictures look very unnatural) partially eclipsed (of light in adjacent dark areas.

HD video mode:
- In daylight, I found the HD recording very well (’s just not a camcorder – but) for a bridge camera really well.
- For a flickering fluorescent light made itself felt no neon lights (because this would be explained). For a bridge camera but still OK.

Conclusion:
For me as an ambitious amateur photographers SX20is in photo mode was disappointing. Good – dig with a Nkon. Spiegelrefelx obviously not comparable, but the photos I took of focus, grainy (1:1) view and color-coated. Since either the Optics and the chip does not, or – more likely – the software. As the photos of the little Canon IXUS 70 are also not bad. Possibly. Canon should give up the pixel mania and focus on fewer megapixels, but better line resolution.

BUT: For a “normal” now and photographer who makes little or nothing to do with image editing and is looking for an integrated HD Viedofunktion, this camera very satisfying.

I’m probably looking for “eggs Wollmilchsau” – but unfortunately for Canon not found.
