Sony Cybershot DSC-HX1

reviews

The Sony camera I have, among other things HX1 for incursions purchased by zoos, so I drag my heavy equipment or not to pull a cart behind needs. With the picture results, I am very satisfied. You agree (from 28 mm wide and KB) to extreme telephoto (560 mm, such as KB). I would not have thought possible. At the Nikon a Originalobjektiv with 560 mm focal length would not be used without a tripod, very heavy, and () unaffordable, at least for me. Today I photographed in the Cologne Zoo, with 560 mm (effective 100 mm) Bart monkeys through the glass. The images are razor sharp at f 5.2, namely, beard …

In short, the main advantages compared to my DSLR (which there really!)

1. Fast Furious series up to 10 frames per second,
2. Shooting in low light from the hand (even at 1 / 8 seconds;
It will be shot six shots and added together)
3. Panoramic shots from his hand,
4. Intelligent Auto, the independent special situations, eg Back-light or macro recognizes
5. Consideration of the histogram before recording, and a concurrent increase in exposure (as with other bridge cameras as well)
6. enormous focal range (28 to 560 mm adequately),
7. and a few bells and whistles, such as film, facial recognition and L?chelautomatik (Brrr. ..).

It is a small miracle: Man photographed e.g. in a church out of his hand, and the camera turns it into a sharp, low-noise photo. There is a special setting for such shots in the twilight. Then the electronics expecting a little bit down, so that the image becomes darker. Of course, this does not work when moving objects, which is with a tripod as well. In post-processing in Adobe Lightroom, I see that was photographed at ISO 1600 or 3200th Nevertheless, the noise ratio is low. I suspect that for each of the six single shots only small part of pixels (1 / 6? Occupied) and will thus resulting low noise. In the aggregation into a single image is likely to depend on the edges of the electronics.

A tracking of the sharpness of moving objects is provided under “advanced sports shooting, there have tried now (25.10.2009). It works. The oncoming cars have taken gas, because they suspected a check …

As for the systemic HX1 can not have exemptions against the background (sharp boundaries), such as portraits, because the depth of field is enormous. However, one can safely operate at maximum aperture (2.8 to 5.2). I had been reluctant because the camera can record in raw format (RAW), but the JPEGs are perfectly well without Nachberabeitung. A filter thread and a lens hood does not exist, but the lens is not scattered light sensitive. Unfortunately that also means that you can not use a neutral density filter for motion studies, unless you hold it with his fingers in front of the lens. Even the cable release has saved you, really a matter of course. External flash units can not join.

I would also have liked a wider review of the viewfinder. The bright 3-inch display contrast, enables a very good review of the section. You can pull down to turn, unfortunately (but not for portrait shots such as in the old Canon G3). Too bad.

With these limitations, I can the apparatus also serious photographer (if necessary to supplement, recommended as mine). The pictures are excellent at all focal lengths and the technique for long-term recordings from the hand is a valuable addition.
