Panasonic Lumix DMC-FS15

reviews

It was time to share some old Canon PowerShot A70 against a modern compact. After extensive research on the Internet, either on the short list was a model of the IXUS range of Canon or the Panasonic Lumix series. Since I have sworn off the megapixel hype, was my choice – not least because of the low price-to the 8 MP camera Panasonic Lumix DMC-FS6 in black.
Panasonic provides the camera with a Quick Start, battery, battery cover, charger, AV and USB cables, and various software. The technical details will please everyone even seek the needed information from the Panasonic website.
The first impression of the Kamara was very positive. It is high quality and has a good feel. While the battery was charged, I devoted myself to the printed Quick Start Guide. This is like – even the long version (148 pages) on CD come – just mediocre. However, this is because describing an infinite number of automatic and Motif programs and options that the classic amateur user can start at first. So put aside and camera manual first put into operation. And lo and behold, the menus and functions open up as if by itself, the long study of the manuals is not necessary. In contrast to the old and the equally existing Powershot SLR Canon EOS 1000D can be adjusted with the FS6 up to an exposure manually nothing. It has an intelligent automatic transmission, which recognizes the important Motivprogramma by itself, moreover, about other additional scene modes that can – be aptly named manually selected -. In addition, some Gimicks (slideshow with music and effects, photo frames are available, etc.) are available.
In practice, the FS6 a good life companion. The intelligent automatic transmission works well, ie, choose theme, push shutter button halfway (Focusing) and photo shoot. The pictures turn out nearly all as really well done. Only in the high-light and telephoto range (from about 3X), there was, inexplicably, a few dropouts. This can be seen on the good display but immediately so that we can repeat the photo if necessary. Recordings with the manually selected the subject programs succeed within the physical limits too good to very good. There are neither distortions nor vignetting apparent. Of course can not be properly grasped any subject in a critical area of automation.
The FS6 should not be compared to an SLR or a compact model with a creative and with manual setting. This is the Panasonic Lumix FS6 rather a successful snapshot camera that makes great pictures, has a good (intellect), automatic transmission, is technically at the height of the time (face detection, 4x zoom), is absolutely easy to high quality and is very easy and elegant ;-) looks like exactly the right thing for my wife.
Due to the technical and visual skills, I would be awarded 4 stars, has the light of the favorable price, the Panasonic Lumix FS6 but deserves 5 stars – super Kamara, only be recommended!
